90's Hip Hop Videos That Influenced My Aesthetic

We all know that the 90's will forever be iconic. The 90's influenced so many things that we still see today whether it's music or style. I always find myself looking back at this wonderful era for inspiration for everyday outfits and incorporating it into my own sense of style. This article will show you videos that influenced my style and can help inspire yours.

ARE YOU THAT SOMEBODY - AALIYAH (1998)

Aaliyah is one of my top 5 people who influenced my style today. She brought the tomboyish but feminine persona that so many of us remember her for. This video shows style for those chill days where you don't want to do too much with your look but still want to look cute. Are you that Somebody showcased low- rise pants, showing your underwear, the sheer black cropped long sleeve, trainers, thick silver choker paired with green eye shadow, brown lips and two cute mini ponytails in the front.

The second look is all black: black loose fitting pants that have a cute shiny look to them paired with a black loose fitting leather jacket with black timberland looking boots and a red glittery bra top. The makeup showcased was a cute bold dark red lip and black eyeliner for the eyes.

The last look gives me vampire realness looks. She came through, I love the fact that her thong was popping out with the slit black skirt. Pairing it with the black tube top and sheer long sleeved fringed crop shirt made this whole look hella cute. You could wear this at the club with your girls  or just for night wear.

One of my favorite videos of all time and song by LL Cool J. This video showcased so much outfits for like any type of mood whether it be sexy, classy or chill. Summer 2106 looks forreal. In the beginning of the video you got the dancers going off and wearing cute metallic orange matching set shorts and crop tops.

WANNABE - SPICE GIRLS (1996)

The Spice Girls always came through with looks. Any girl can relate to at least one of them, whether it be Scary Spice, Sporty Spice, Baby Spice or Ginger Spice. The one I relate to the most is Scary Spice, she is my spirit animal.

Sporty Spice wore blue track pants with an orange halter crop top, Baby spice a cute white mini dress and two ponytails, Sporty Spice a green tank top with low rise black and green patterned pants and Ginger Spice with the glittery sequined body suits and sheer tights.

2nd look: Each girl is wearing a plaid shirt whether worn normally or tied around the waist with high waist mom jeans, white tank top or v- neck top, mini hoop earrings and dog tag necklaces. The braids totally completed and gave these outfits a cute look.

ICE CREAM - RAEKWON (1995)

I've been tying knots in my shirts since like the 7th grade, it just makes everything cuter. Especially with baggy over sized shirts. Above the video girls from the videos are wearing the shirts rolled up or tied with high waist denim shorts; definitely a look for those summer days.

*I still need a chocolate deluxe Wutang shirt*

You got the gold chains, bandana as an accessory, hockey jerseys, crop tops and mini skirts. You can't go wrong!
