Alexa Chung's Street Style
Alexa Chung has taken the fashion world by storm since the turn of the millennium, appearing in ads as the face of multiple companies and brands, as well as walking the runways for a slew of different designers. This British babe’s off duty look, as well as social life and circle of friends, has been the topic of conversation since her step into the spotlight. Her style is effortlessly chic with a hint of 60’s mod, killing it time and time again, even when she’s just photographed walking in the streets! So here are my top five favourite Alexa Chung’s street style looks.
Over All
Alexa showed up to an Allure party wearing this overall number and I was all over it! Now this isn’t your standard blue jean baby overall, but rather, a washed-out black denim. This look is effortless and casual, while still giving some edge. She kept the rest of the outfit simple by pairing a crème knit underneath, and finishing with her signature quilted Chanel crossbody and ever-so-cute Charlotte Olympia kitty flats.
The Cape
Blistering cold days call for layers on layers, with things getting especially chilly on the streets of NYC. Alexa was spotted after a round of shopping draped in this beautiful color block blanket scarf, in addition of another, quite juxtaposing statement piece – her classic leopard booties. She kept the rest of the outfit simple with faded black skinnies and a black pea coat, making me agree that Alexa Chung’s street style to die for.
Masculine Chic
Androgynous fashion is so hot right now, spotted in all the shops through tailored trousers, longer boxier coats and shirt dresses, but Alexa’s been rocking it for quite some time now. The masculine-meets-feminine hybrid ties into her entire effortlessly-chic-off-duty look and was executed perfectly in this ensemble. She paired this rather masculine silk ditsy-patterned button-down with black skinnies and chunky moto boots and topped off the look with a wide-brimmed boater hat and classic trench coat. All the different pieces to this look work seamlessly with one another, making it appear as if she just threw everything quickly together.
Mod Molly
This next outfit screams 60’s mod, classified it as a “classic” in the “Alexa Chung street style” archives! Playing with textures in this next look, Alexa has paired silk and suede, two very 60’s fabrics. The steel blue silk button-down tucked into the a-line suede skirt creates a silhouette that’s flattering on just about any body type. To accessorize, Alexa paired it with some 50’s-inspired tortoise shell sunnies and her Charlotte Olympia kitty flats yet again. With this look there’s no questioning whether she’s a model or a rocker.
Edgy Moto
Alexa shows that she can hang with the rockers in this final street style look, combining her effortless chic aesthetic with some edgier pieces. The moto-style leather jacket mixed with the frayed edges on her denim shorts and patent leather brogues bring out total rocker vibes.
