Meet Artist Jessica M
My name is Jessica Marie and I am a 21-year-old visual artist based out of Los Angeles, California. I am completely self taught, I do not attend any type of art school or class and never have. I primarily oil paint, but I love to use a variety of mediums because I have fun switching it up.
Art is my passion; I've done it for as long as I can remember. Even as a little kid, I was always either drawing or listening to music, which happens to be one of the things that inspires my art the most. Music itself sparks an immense amount of creativity in me, but it's usually the artist and the stories of struggle behind the music that really influence me to push harder and create. Most of my pieces are portraits of people that I appreciate and can relate to, as I have experienced difficult times in my life as well.
Art and music was once an escape for me when I needed it, but now it is simply just a way of life. It's an amazing and scary feeling to pour your soul into something as simple as a canvas or a piece of paper, but that's what I do and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am so blessed to have found what I want to do for the rest of my life at such a young age, and even more blessed to be able to pursue it.
