Urban Time Magazine: What is your name, where are you from and what do you do?

Aaija: My name is Aaija Jackson. I'm from Glenarden Maryland and I'm a upcoming model in the DMV area. I wouldn't call myself a model yet because I haven't been assigned to an official company but I'm working on that!

Urban Time Magazine: Why would you think you'd be fit to be a model? When did you know this was something you'd want to do?

Aaija: To be honest I think I'd be fit to be a model because I have came a long way. When I was younger, I used to be very insecure. The number one thing you need to model is confidence. Over time, my confidence has built up to the point where I believe i can be anything I wanna be if I try hard enough. And this is my passion. I honestly couldn't see myself doing anything else. I realized I wanted to be a model once I did my first photo shoot and I really realized how photogenic I was and I love being in front of a camera.

Urban Time Magazine: When was your first photoshoot?

Aaija: My first photo shoot actually wasn't that long ago. It was at like the beginning of January.

Urban Time Magazine: What type of person are you personality wise?

Aaija: Personality wise.... I'm probably the goofiest person you'll meet. That's why I'm able to have fun with modeling because I'm not all serious and stuck up. I may come off a little mean and cocky but that's not me at all and I hate people that prejudge by looks.

Urban Time Magazine: Do you look up to anyone? Do you have a role model?

Aaija: Yes! I look up to my mother. She's my role model. She worked so hard to take care of me. Being a single mother is tough and she's always been so strong and such a positive female figure in my life. I just wanna make her proud

Urban Time Magazine: What advice would you give to individuals younger than yourself who are aspiring to become models?

Aaija: I would say to them that if it's really what they wanna do, do it! Ignore people that doubt you, because there are gonna be a lot of people trying to bring you down.
It's a lot of criticism, but if you block out all the negativity you can be really great.
