Almost Famous, but Already Fame Bound
TheFame, a name that will be stuck in your head after you hear this artists latest body of work, B A D G I R LS the EP. This is a 10 track project that is full of songs that will have your fingers using the repeat button until it breaks. The EP withholds TheFame three infamous singles "Some of Your Time" , "For Us", and "Pink Skies". All songs have reached outstanding numbers on Soundcloud, but the numbers hold half of what this New Jersey native has in store. From his dark, mysterious and vigorous sound, you would have thought this upper and comer was PartyNextDoor mixed with Travis Scott. But do not be confused, TheFame is in his own lane, and is looking like the new wave.
Hudson: First and foremost congrats on your EP B A D G I R L S, can you explain the process of making this project?
TheFame: Thank you! And the process was more waiting to embrace something emotionally to speak about. Once that happened, I would make the beat and just lay the vocals down.
Do any of the tracks on this tape express the point of view of from those around you?
Kind of. I really spoke about things that were happening to me and happened to me. But [I] was also speaking for people I know that have been through the same but don't have the same courage to speak about it in public.
Does the EP title hold a deeper meaning?
Yes, "B A D G I R L S" represents the women I feel or felt I only attracted. I've been hurt more than I feel I've been loved or have done bad to my eyes and turned them into "bad girls".
Are there hints of a consistent, underlying worldview through this EP?
Yeah, to never put all of your trust into someone who won't be with you for the ups and the downs. But also to cherish what you have before it becomes what you had.
As an artist do you write all your music? And if so can you explain where your inspiration came from for this EP?
Yes I do, but I did have help with writing on B A D G I R L S. And [my] inspiration pretty much came from slightly overcoming pain, so I needed to get those feelings out.
Do you feel as if you woke up more people with this project?
I definitely feel a lot more people are embracing my vision more than ever before.
What is one thing that you wanted to accomplish with this project? And did you reach that goal?
I wanted to accomplish having my sound reach people in a deeper way and more people in that way and I definitely have accomplished that, more than I did with my mixtape "PORNOGRAPHY".
How did your fans and onlookers receive this project? Did they take it the way you hope they would?
My fans took this project way better than I hoped [laughs]. I felt I may have rushed this project but everyone else felt it was put together beautifully. They received this piece as a work of versatile art and that's exactly what I was going for. Shout out to my fans, love em!
Where do you think this tape will take you now that you have seen how the people have responded to it?
I think I could finally pave a pathway to reaching out to labels and establish a tour to give people a more personal part of me.
With so many distractions in today’s day of age how did you stay focused on completing this project?
My brother Jedaiah and my parents helped me stay focused to keep working on this project and life in general. All you need is patience and faith in life, and if you have that then you could achieve anything.
As an artist trying to make it to the top how do you feel about sleep?
[laughs] Well I've gone many nights without sleep to work on music. But I definitely recommend every artist and person get enough of it or you will not be able to function at your full capacity. I do however recommend people waking up as early as possible if they have something to accomplish. Like the old saying goes, "The early bird catches the worm."
Now that you have released this project what can your fans expect from you within the next couple of months?
Well I already started working on a new project with my production team from my collective Euphoria Sounds. But other than that I am going to be releasing visuals from PORNOGRAPHY and B A D G I R L S and get some shows going. Definitely want to reach out to as many people as I can right now organically.
