Most of the time style is known to revolve around trends. Scrolling through Instagram is like scrolling through a Kim and Kanye fan page. Looking from the outside, in there isn't much diversity and versatility when it comes to style. It seems that everyone would rather wear what the next person has. If that makes you feel comfortable there's nothing wrong with that, but for the people that want to do more this article may shine a light on you. Growing up, being different is always a "problem". Do not fall victim to society's opinion, allow your creativity to flourish. 

Besides her amazing music, Solange Knowles is also known for her outstanding style. Solange has effortlessly reserved a spot in the fashion world, executing monochrome and fluorescent outfits. Along with her amazing style comes her astonishing visuals and her project 'Saint Heron' that is not only an album release but also a cultural movement. In an interview Solange spoke about her style evolving with her and how style is all about the skin you're in. She also explains that she mixes high and low fashion pieces and still seems to put it together very well. Solange has inspired many people to be comfortable with themselves by dressing freely and being herself.

On the right is another style muse, Freddie Harrel. Freddie grew from insecurities and wanting to fit beauty standards to accepting herself. After accepting herself Freddie decided that she wanted to extend her newly found happiness to others. She is currently doing this through her blog: IGoByFrankie.com, Youtube channel: Freddie Harrel, and Instagram: @FreddieHarrel. In her videos she explains how she's always been the shy girl with insecurities and how she pushed all of that aside and allowed her style to flourish.

To top this article, StyleLikeU is a mother-daughter team leading a movement that empowers people to accept and express their true selves. StyleLikeU was founded in 2009 and has been created to honor indiviuals with authentic personal style. After years of working in the fashion industry as a fashion stylist for Vanity Fair, Interview, In Style, Glamour, and Self, Elisa (Mother) decided to take a break to raise her children. After returning to the fashion industry she realized that everything was changing and the industry was now about a certain IMAGE. As Lily (daughter) grew up she realized that her beautiful curves weren't made to squeeze into super skinny jeans. After trying for so long she noticed that molding herself into this image the industry held was not important. After watching her daughter struggle with her self-image, the duo decided to come together as StyleLikeU and created the 'What's Underneath' project. This project has made major impact and these beautiful women have inspired myself and many others to love ourselves unconditionally.
