Rihanna The Feminist
Constantly in Mainstream America everyone raves about Women empowerment and which women are worthy of the feminist title.Noticeable Rihanna is never listed as one of our fellow sheroes.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty is often criticized for many things. From her risqué fashion to her explicit content, she seems to always fall short of other’s expectations. The naysayers have yet to realize that things she are bashed for makes her a Feminist icon .
The unapologetic liberated soul has expressed countless times she doesn’t wish to be seen as a role model. She’s a badass who owns up to being human. As the ringleader of the zero FUCKS given cult she has reached women in her own way.
Visually she displays why she’s a feminist, even though often her works are unnoticed. Her videos S&M and Man Down who were quickly banned upon their releases were very vocal moments in her career.
S&M was a vibrant video promoting sexual fetishes. It was synonymous with the sex driven lyrics of the record. She pranced around in tight leather suits and wore bondage.

Man down told a chilling tale about a woman being sexually assaulted and taking matters into her own hands. The concept caused a media frenzy. Rihanna gunned a man down in broad daylight, but I saw a bigger picture.
Rihanna didn’t only gun down a rapist. She was shooting down misogynistic views and speaking out for women who were hurt in that way. She was speaking for the abused and misunderstood. The video should have been enough to solidify her as a feminist.

Not only has her visuals expressed women empowerment her lyrics have too.Her melodic voice has graced the world with ultimate feminist bops.
Here are six songs where Rihanna advocates being a strong assertive woman.
1.“Come here rude boy can you get it? Come here rude boy is you big enough?”
Rude boy is the true definition of women empowerment.
She sang over dope production about how to approach a man when it’s time to be taken care of. No bullshit or sugar coating.
She asked what the man had to offer in bed in a derogatory way. She flipped the roles. Normally women are the ones objectified. I adored that this song promoted men as the objects.
2. “They can say whatever imma do whatever. No pain is forever. Yep you know this.”
Hard was a song created during a trying time of Rihanna’s life. She refused to lie down or appear to be weak.
Those lyrics meant she was a warrior and she could survive anything. It provided listeners with motivation to become fearless.
Hard is the clapback song for all haters and it removes self doubt. I guarantee if you turn up Hard on one of those days you feel gloomy you will feel like you can conquer the world.
3. I’ve been looking for a driver who is qualified so if you think that you’re the one step into my ride.”
Shut Up And Drive is a song that was presented to the world during the infamous good girl gone bad era. Rihanna was slowly transitioning into the sex symbol we all love.
This song is extremely sexually and is overlooked. It exudes sex appeal and expresses owning up to being a woman. Rihanna wants a man who is built for speed and can handle her sex drive.
All women should want a man who we are compatible with in the bedroom.
4. “Life’s too short to be sitting around miserable. People gonna talk whether you’re doing bad or good.”
Cheers was a mellow tune that discussed living life to the fullest and not caring how you are perceived.
It’s simple fuck everyone and do as you please. Rihanna is saying never allow limitations to be placed upon you.
It is very true that no matter how your life is going people will discuss it. You have to remember to stay true to yourself and live only for you.
5. “Imma do it till you can’t take no mo. Till my lipstick ain’t on my face no mo.”
Watch N Learn is self explanatory. Being the one who tweeted “More Oral No Morals” it’s clear she is an advocate for oral play and being dominant.
As a woman you should never feel uncomfortable while having sex. It’s beautiful when women take charge.
There is nothing wrong with being kinky. She was surely being vocal about how to please a lover. No pun intended.
6. "You better learn how to treat us right cause once a good girl goes bad we die forever."
Rihanna's track titled Good Girl Gone Bad with the same name as her smash album is about demanding respect. She is expressing that all men should treat their women fairly or they must deal with the consequences of a woman transitioning into their enemy.
Is it imperative that women demand respect in everything they do.
Being the fashion icon that she is Rihanna enjoys displaying her assets and feeling confident in clothing she also wants others to feel comfortable about their body too She embraces flaws and promotes body positvity. In an interview she said
"You have to just accept your body. You may not love it all the way, but you just have to be comfortable with it, comfortable with knowing that that's your body." - Rihanna
She also took to her twitter account to express her unconditional love for women and that "Young ladies, love yourself! Your skin, your booty, your hair You're all beautiful! Keep your hearts pure! Love and laugh, and live life"
Here's three times where the legendary pop princess wowed me as she flaunted skin proudly.
Here she struts care free in an all green signature Gucci lace dress leaving much to the imagination. The sick lace up boots are Gucci as well, while the adorable metallic bag is compliments of Christian Dior.
Here she shimmers in a gold Stella McCartney dress displaying that the back side is the best side. She appears to be bra-less and also going commando in this dress. If you got it flaunt it Riri.
The time she dazzled in the iconic mesh gown that Swarovski Crystals adorned which was designed by her personal stylist Mel Ottenberg and Adam Selman. She received the fashion icon award in this attire and after seeing this look there was no doubt in anyone's mind that she didn't deserve the honor.
Rihanna is vocal about women and why they should be appreciated. Rihanna is a national treasure and we shall treat her as such.
