"Ima white tee nigga, nigga's go to that corner store before we step out. Get you a fresh white tee, black tee, Pro Club only. For all the bitches that wanna get me Pro Club, Ima XL." Say's 22-year-old FlynnAlkapone, who is sporting an infamous Rick Ross beard, a Pro Club white tee topped off with a Dodger blue hat. "I ain't into this fashion shit, ima regular ass nigga, ima wear these regular ass clothes." Even though his appearance comes as calm, cool and collected while he sits and plays with an empty water bottle, this man is about his business. And seated amongst him, is his brethren, SplashTeam, who are all committed to this rap game as he is.
"No Pro Club is not where it is, you gotta get you a shocka, you gotta wear shocka, I got the shocka on right now, and SB's. Nike SB's, mid, high, lows." Chimes in the laughing 23-year-old AP who is dressed in a Nike USC tracksuit paired with a Ralph Lauren bucket hat. These two are only a quarter of a full conglomerate, that go by the name of SplashTeam. Just seeing what these two can do with out the rest of their crew is a astonishing. Opening up for artists like Tory Lanez to Young Thug, not to mention having everyone in the building with there hands up including, a 40-year-old women... SplashTeam is literally making waves.
What is SplashTeam?
A: SplashTeam is just a collective of individuals, that came together around 2010, Flynn came around 2012. At first we were a bunch of dudes that just really played sports, that's what we were really on at first, sports. Then we came together and started making music, and that's who [we] is, Splash.

Do you guys believe that there is an American dream?
F: Hell yeah, niggas is out here chasin' it.
A: We chasin' it right now, that's what we [are] tryin' to achieve to, trying to get. We don't really have nothing, niggas is hungry right now, that's what we [are] trying to get.
F: You gotta dream, if you not dreamin' you not gonna work... I'm trying to make a million you feel me? [AP laughs] Forreal though.
How soon do you want to make a million?
F: Man, right now would be cool, but I know that's a rush, we really got all the pieces to get on, we got heat, good music. We have the talent, it's just how bad niggas want it, that's really what it is. A lot of niggas say they wanna make this and that, but niggas is lazy. [shakes head] Cant be lazy, in this game, lazy don't get you paid.
Wanna add on to that AP?
A: Man like bro was talking about, you just gotta be out here ready to get it, no stopping just all work. And we working, bro got his mixtape coming, I got my music coming, its non-stop we just out here trying to get it.
If you guys do not make it with your music, what are you guy's going to do?
F: Gang Bang.
A: Honestly [laughs] look listen, listen this is plan B, plan A didn't work... Plan A was to go hoop, but I didn't give myself a chance in that, because I didn't graduate High School, so this is it.
So there is little room to no room for error?
A: There's no room for error, this is the only thing that is on our mind, right now 24/7, when I am at home, sitting down [I'm] writing music. If I have a beat and wrote two to three verse's to it, I'm listening and writing it again, [be] cause I didn't think that one was hot enough, like you gotta keep going.
Since you mentioned gang banging, how do you guys feel about what is taking place in Chicago?
F: Chicago is doing what the West cost was doing, back in the day when the Rodney King [riots] was coming up. But right now like they [are] taking it to the next level, niggas ain't caring, I feel like its a video game out there to be honest, they don't care. You got young kids running around with guns, we already did what they did, and got out of it. But you can still get popped, it don't matter but out there they think it's fun. That's what they doing, I don't got no problem with it, shit happens.
A: Like bro said, we did that already, we not on no gang stuff out here, you know we [are] all about money. We got different hoods clicking up, its all about money. But its opposite out there, that's why there music is so good; they reporting what's going on, in they music. That's why there music is good, because its real.
F: If all that's you can rap about is gang banging, then shit let that nigga rap about gang banging, that nigga wanna talk about 30s and shooting niggas, then let him talk about 30s and shooting nigga's. But on the West Cost, that era passed up, N.W.A that whole time came up, that's when we was out here shooting shit, but like he said, nigga's is on lets get this money. Nigga's is still gang banging, but we want this money... Being dead is boring, probably, ain't it?

Often times people say Hip-Hop is dead, do you agree with that?
F: No, people need to understand that the world evolves, the world moves on, so if you [are] still stuck in a different era, and you are basing that whole era off that then, your not evolving. People cant talk about what Tupac was talking about, because we not in that era. The music that we listen to right now, is current to what the world is going through, maybe people aren't touching topics that they should, but their is artist's that are touching on that topic's, you [just] gotta find them.
F: Wettin' up.
Wettin' up, what is that?
F: Shit, just wettin' up like coming up where we is right now, and just movin' forward, that's wettin' up, keep adding on to what we [are] doing, all the pieces of the puzzle coming together. The process that's wet, shit gone come, just gotta be patient, shit we like a hurricane, right now we in the ocean, but shit, nigga we finna hit land, you feel me? That's wet, that's wettin' up.
Alright lets get into the music, AP can you speak on you single DOPE?
A: The homie D. Swagg sent me the beat, this is a true story, I had the beat for a month. I couldn't think of nothing to put on it, then I was at the homie Bryan's house, shout out to the homie Bryan and his kids [laughs], but I had something on-
F: Probably a gold chain
A: [shakes his head] I was at the homie Bryan house, and his mom tried to disrespect me, she said, "You have all them clothes on, but you broke." I said, "Who's broke?" then I pulled two thousand out on her like, "Who's broke?" She looked at me and said, "Boy what you do, sale dope?" Then the homie Bryan said, "It look like it." Later on I was at home and my nephew was there, he was four at the time, I had put on the beat and started saying don't it look like I sale dope. I stopped the beat and all I hear is my nephew somewhere in the house repeating everything that I was saying, [laughs] My sister was so mad at me, I hit Gene [manger] later on and said I think I have something here.
What about you Flynnalkapone, can you speak on your single, MK?
Flynnalkapone starts to nod his head rapping his own lyrics, "Molly and Coke she say she down to smoke, that's all they want [laughs].
"I'm mad bro just said that." Laughs AP.
F: I was just at P.Diddy's son's Halloween party. I walked in there and got all the attention because I had a bottle of Henny. These females really be on you, if you got drugs or a bottle of Henny, if you got something in your hand... females don't really see you, they see what you got in your hand. I had my bro D. Swagg got on the track, I looked a bunch of jay-z interviews, I watched the one that's on the intro, I watched the full hour, chopped it up. Added the Play-station part, like we gettin' started... turn that shit on.
