The Power Of Nudity

"Why Are Women Judged For Appearance?"

Above is pictures of Saartijie "Sarah" Baartman one of the most famous Khoikhoi women who, due to their large buttocks , were subjected to life in human zoo exhibits in 19th-century Europe.

For centuries women have been subjected to bullying and harassment because of their body. Historically the body has been looked at as entertainment and sexual enticement which is still relevant today as men and women feel that the way a person may look or dress is a statement of  public permission to touch them which is outrageous.

Above is a picture of a protester in Paris on International Women's Day.

Women are human, in the fact that in some places they were and still are treated as less is a tragedy. Our sisters, mothers, nieces, grandmothers and others are all vulnerable to the harassment of this misogynistic society created by insecurities of male dominance.

Recently celebrities have came out against body shaming like Amber Rose who has been the voice of  modern day feminism. She has condemned those who called her a slut and actually has embraced the term making it a weapon of womanhood. The real question is why do so many men and women care what you wear and how you wear it as if it effects them?

Like I said previously the body has been looked at as sexual enticement throughout history and now you have women wanting to show more skin which they should be able to do with no question but some men think its an invitation to sexual harassment which scary. Women's fashion has evolved overtime to be more free and the ideas of misogynistic men of today enslave women into the world of male control.

I encourage people to be themselves but in a society that judges people for their sex and race which are things in which we can not control it creates a harsh environment in which many feel that can not be completely free.Things such as breast ,buttocks and genital areas should not be considered an explicit image or a bad word it should be considered normal and regular because as a society if we truly want to progress we have to start treating women like human beings and not like images from a magazine or a film. In the words of the great philosopher Tupac Shakur,

"Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why do we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it's time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women."
