Meet Artist Jasaya Arroyo
In an interview with the dynamic Jasaya Arroyo, Urban Time Magazine was able to uncover just how talented and focused this young individual is.
Urban Time Magazine: Who are you and what exactly do you do?
Jasaya: My name is Jasaya, but mostly everyone knows me as Saya. I'm 19. I'm an "artist". I am from new york.
Urban time Magazine: Why did you use the term "artist" in quotations?
Jasaya: Well because titles are stupid to me. I hate calling myself an artist. Everyone calls themselves artists these days. It doesn't mean anything. But for the sake of this interview and describing myself and who I am... I'm an "artist" haha.
Urban Time Magazine: What type of person do your consider yourself to be?
Jasaya: I'm my own individual. I don't follow any crowd and I live by my own internal rules. I'm an introvert. I like being inside most of the time. Sometimes I can be moody and erratic. I feel bad for my family, close friends, or anyone who has to deal with me when I'm in one of my moods.
I'm also open minded and nonjudgmental.
Urban Time Magazine: What themes do you as an artist pursue? Which works of art are most enjoyable for you?
Jasaya: Right now my work is inspired by UFO's / post apocalyptic settings / landscapes.
I really enjoy landscape paintings! NYC can be so dull and structural. I love looking at landscape paintings and feeling like I'm apart of nature. I can connect with the image and really feel the space around me. My body is in one place, but my mind is in another.
