Toast to Life And Good Ryhmes with D'Andre Martin

GRAB A GLASS, POP A BOTTLE, AND CELEBRATE WITH D'ANDRE MARTIN.

Life is always full of surprises nine out of ten times those moments result in a festive or a gathering. As of lately there are a lot of things that 21-year-old Dallas Texas native, D'Andre Martin has to celebrate thus far.

Can you speak on what inspired you to create your latest single Celebrate

When I wrote celebrate I was in a really good place. I had just turned 21 and I felt great about who I was as a person and as an artist.

As an artists have you seen growth in your work?

I’ve definitely seen growth in my work. Every once in a while I’ll listen to some old, unreleased tracks that me and Chef Marokyn made when we were still teenagers. Seeing the difference between now, and then is always fun. We’ve grown so much.

Who is Chef Markoyn?

He's one of my best friends and he's [also] my producer [and] engineer.

Is he the only producer that you work with?

As of right now, yes but I'm completely open to working with other producers as well.

What other artist's or producers would you like to work with?

There are so many artists and producers that I would love to work with. My list is crazy long, but just to name a few that might surprise some people . . . Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Tori Kelly . . . I love their music. Lido is one of my favorite producers right now. His style is just so different from what everyone else is doing. Working with him would be dope. Again, there are so many. My list of dream collaborations goes on, and on.

So, you are from Texas, how is the rap scene out there?

I definitely feel like our scene is overlooked. There are plenty of talented artists here.

Are there any other artists that you feel threatened by in your hometown?

I don't feel threatened by anyone. I’m completely confident in who I am as an artist and what my team is capable of.

What is your soul purpose when it comes to your music?

I just want to inspire people to do better. I feel like my content is different when it comes to most rappers and I feel like the things I choose to talk about are things that most people can relate to.

Do you think that your music can really reach people?

Based on the encounters I’ve had with people about my music, I know it can. It’s just a matter of getting the world to hear what I have to say.

As an artist do you feel as if you have a bit of pressure weighing on you?

Definitely. It’s hard to balance going to school, going to work, maintaining a social life, and chasing your dream all at the same time. My shoulders have never felt this heavy before but I’m doing my best to make it all work. Pressure creates diamonds. I know I’ll end up better later because of the things I’m going through now.

In the next two years where do you think you will be with your music?

My dream is to be able to do music full time, travel the world with my homies and help take care of my family. Hopefully I’m able to do so by then.

What is one thing as an artist that you would want to do before you leave this earth?

I want to be known as an artist that was for the people. I want people to listen to my music and feel like they can conquer any obstacle that stands in the way of where they want to be in life. I want people to look at my team and realize that they have the power to make a better tomorrow for themselves as well. Overall, I just want to inspire people to be their best.
